[04.04.18]

April bring many things – longer days, warmer weather (apparently), spring bulbs and bouncing lambs.  April also brings a number of increases in employer’s costs.  Please note the following:

The National Minimum Wage increases:

Aged 21-24: from £7.05 to £7.38

Aged 18-20: from £5.60 to £5.90

Under 18: from £4.05 to £4.20

Apprentice: from £3.50 to £3.70

In addition the National Living Wage for those aged 25 and over rises from £7.50 to £7.83.

Contributions to Auto-Enrolment Pensions have also increased.  The previous contributions were: 1% from employers; and 1% from employees.  This has increased for 6th April 2018 to 5th April 2019 to: 2% from employers; and 3% from employees.
